Welcome to Savoring Our Lives! In this week’s episode, we:
Watched Stranger Things
Spoiler-free discussion! Netflix launched season 2 of Stranger Things last week and we watched all nine episodes this week. It’s been fun to see the series’ take on the 1980s. It blew Chad’s mind when Ruth pointed out that since the show takes place in 1983/1984, he would actually have been as old as the kids in the show.
Made Chicken Cordon Bleu
We’ve been doing a lot of batch cooking so last night we made a single meal – Chicken Cordon Bleu. We’ve learned a lot since the first time we made a version of this meal. If there’s one thing we’ve learned it’s to salt and pepper all the things! We did find out that Ruth misheard the lyrics for “Cornflake Girl” for well over 20 years.
Had Lunch With Friends
Our friend Char made her homemade Baked Potato soup. It was full of butter, potatoes, love and topped with cheese and bacon. It was inspiring to be with friends and sharing a meal.
Took a Tour of Wantable
We had to opportunity to see local startup, Wantable. As an online fashion shopping service, they’ve experienced immense growth over the last few years. It was great to see how they continue to learn and figure things out as they go along.
Decided to Write in NaNoWriMo
Chad is finally writing his book! And while NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writer’s Month) is dedicated to writing novels, he’s going to finish his non-fiction book! Want to follow along on his progress? Go here and keep an eye on his progress.
