Welcome to Savoring Our Lives! In this week’s episode:
We returned to Pizza Man for Cubano Part 2 Our server Lindsey encouraged us to come back to customize our Cubano Pizza, so we did! And, luckily, it was half price wine night!
Ruth hung out with friends
In trying to dig out of depression, Ruth’s trying to connect more with friends. She went out to dinner with two different friends this week and really enjoyed the French Onion Soup at new French restaurant, Fauntleroy.
We created our own Sunrise Burger
Inspired by Chad’s favorite burger at The Hale House, we decided to try to make our own at home! We also had zoodles – zucchini noodles – with the burger.
Got some info about Frank
Turns out Frank is a focal fat deposit. It’s basically some fat that didn’t know where else to go. It’s mostly from leading a sedentary lifestyle and being overweight. The advice was to lose weight and exercise more.

Welcome to Savoring Our Lives! In this week’s episode, we:
Celebrated an Abby-versary This week marks the one-year anniversary of bringing Abby home.
Enjoyed date night in Waukesha
We visited Mainstream Bar & Grill on main street in Waukesha. Chad had the Rise and Shine Burger which he dubbed, “The Chad Burger.”
Visited Ravinia Festival to see Seal
We drove to Ravinia in Highland Park, found parking on the festival grounds and hung out with Seal. It was his “Standards” tour so the first half of the show was ’50s covers; the second half was a Seal dance party. See a set list from the tour.
Got some test results
Ruth had the CT scan of her liver. Turns out, in addition to some hemangiomas which are NBD, they also found a 3cm legion which has a blood flow going to it. which is so not cool. She named the legion Frank and now has to see a GI guy for a consult in July.
Tried BBQ at Redbar
We ate at The Saucy Swine inside Redbar. Chad described their “bacon bombs” as “decadent” and really enjoyed their brisket. We were oddly entranced with the National Cornhole Championships which were on the televisions.
Were inspired by people who deal with depression
One of our friends is learning a programming language to create an app to send up a flare to ask for help.
