506 – Instant Brisket

Celebrated Shelley Long Appreciation Day
Actually, no. We didn’t. But Ruth got Chad to look up the history of the holiday. Turns out there is no Shelley Long Appreciation Day.

Continued to pretend we were in Vegas

Wild Mushroom Flat Bread at Milwaukee Beer Bistro

For our anniversary, we went out for steak dinner at Mr. B’s Steakhouse. The next night we went out for date night and visited Milwaukee Beer Bistro and then enjoyed tiki drinks at Foundation.

Learned to let go
Chad is letting his membership at Milwaukee Makerspace go. He likes the community but the space itself isn’t matching up with what he’s doing. And then, on Saturday we celebrated our friend Dave’s 55th birthday at a party held by his family. He’s fighting stage four lung cancer so the event was bittersweet for all.

Tried to perfect a brisket recipe
We’ve been trying to come up with a plan to eat better more consistently and Chad’s eating a little more paleo so he thought he’d give an Instant Pot recipe for brisket. The recipe took waaaay longer than we thought. So we ended up calling for pizza.

Started to say hello to summer
Our landscapers are on their way and we just replaced our patio chairs. Now we just need the warm weather to arrive!
